MCS Varsity Baseball, after not having a team for a few seasons, finally gets the first win of the 2021 season at Oberlin High School.

Brock Rentzel was bad news for opposing pitchers on Thursday, driving in four on three hits to lead Mansfield Christian Flames Varsity past Oberlin High School 12-2 on Thursday.  Rentzel drove in runs on a double in the third, a single in the fourth, and a stolen base in the fifth.

MCS tallied five runs in the fourth inning.  Rentzel, Isaac Hillman, Joshua Kochheiser, and Bryce Courser each had RBI’s in the frame.

Kochheiser took the win for MCS.  Kochheiser lasted five innings [complete game], allowing six hits and two runs while striking out 15.

MCS racked up 16 hits on the day.  Kochheiser, Rentzel, Caleb Gregory, Will Connell, Ethan Byrom, and Hillman each had multiple hits for the Flames.

The Flames tore up the base baths, as three players stole at least two bases.  Rentzel lead the way with five.
