Top Ten Accents

Zayne Hill, Writer

There are a lot of accents out there some more charming than others. With some accents the words just roll off the tongue and you think to yourself how are they talking like that? Well it was where they were raised, just like us, it’s weird to think that to other people of different origins I have an accent because to me they have an accent. These accents are a very cool thing to make you stand out somewhere from where you are not from.

  1. Canadian

A very charming accent comes from a country that is known for being very nice and well, charming. With a Canadian accent you get a lot of very subtle vowels and many “eh’s.”

  1. Jamaican

The reggae genre started in Jamaica with examples like: Jimmy Cliff, Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, and of course Bob Marley. The accent in these songs are of course Jamaican and you can see for yourself how nice the accent is to listen to.

  1. Spanish

When people with this accent speak, you just hear how much the words roll off the tongue quite literally, when you say an “L” with a Spanish accent you actually roll your tongue which sounds so cool when you talk fast with this accent.

  1. Scottish

If you have seen Braveheart you know what I am talking about, to me this accent sounds so cool. Coming from the UK the Scottish accent is a fun but difficult accent to do correctly because of how close it is to an Irish accent.

  1. French

The French accent, AKA The Romance Language, is from France which then would include Paris which is also known as one of the most romantic places on earth. The accent is very cool to listen to and definitely deserves to be on this list.

  1. Southern

Coming from states like Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, etc. Who doesn’t like a good Southern accent. One of the coolests accents because you just sound like a cowboy 24/7, and have cool words like: “howdy” and “y’all” which are words you can easily pull off with a southern accent.

  1. British

The British accent, the accent that everyone thinks they can replicate but you can still tell whether they are really British or not. The British accent every time you hear it you can’t help but start thinking of tea, crumpets, and the queen herself.

  1. Italian

Everytime I think of this accent I think of gangsters in the mafia, which is very cool. It would be so cool to be able to pull off a perfect Italian accent.

  1. Australian

Obviously Australian was going to be on here, when I hear someone with an Australian accents I just think to myself, this person is cool. I don’t know what it is, I mean, I love to do me an Australian accent but it doesn’t sound quite right.

  1. Kiwi (New Zealand)

Kiwi is just amazing sounding, a mix kind of between British and Australian, when this accent is even mentioned always what comes to mind is someone who is positive. I can’t even think of someone who is mad with this accent, that is how nice and positive it sounds.
