Bohemian Rhapsody is a messy and unorganized movie, yet despite the flaws, it accurately portrays Queen and Freddie Mercury nonetheless. Bohemian Rhapsody is able to pick up the small details from the real-life events from Queen and implement them into the movie. The amount of time and detail put into this movie is astonishing.

Rami Malek portrayed Freddie Mercury fabulously. Bohemian Rhapsody revolves around the character of Freddie Mercury and Rami Malek was able to mimic Mercury’s identity. Everything Malek said or did was done with the heart and soul of the late singer Mercury. Malek was clearly the face of the success of the movie. Although the voice we hear singing is Mercury’s, Malek was able to cast an illusion on the audience, making it seem as if the voice is coming out of Malek’s own body.

However, the movie makes a mess of the timeline that it follows. Viewers are left confused as to when some scenes took place. If you decide to watch you, will see a scene of the band and in the next scene, there will be an unrecognized time gap of a couple of years which makes the film quite confusing.

Bohemian Rhapsody also seems to be going through an identity crisis. The movie is supposed to be about how Queen came to be, but instead, the movie focuses mainly on Mercury. One scene will be about Queen and the next will draw attention to Mercury. It seems as if the movie is trying to decide whether or not it should be about Mercury as a person or Queen as a whole.

In the end, the movie does favor Queen, as it features the full Live Aid concert reenacted. The amount of details that the producers pulled from the actual event is astonishing. The detail in this film is unprecedented. Every event happens exactly the way it did the first time. Malek’s moving, the dancing, singing, and expressions are perfectly recreated from those of Mercury at the Live Aid concert. If the movie put this much detail into every scene, then Bohemian Rhapsody could have been considered the greatest biographical movie of all time.
