John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not die but have eternal life” (NIV). That one verse is quite possibly the most overused verse of the modern age. The truth is, no matter how much it is used, no matter what circumstance you are in, it is still true. While over saturation does cause jadedness towards the verse, knowing that the Lord of Lords and King of Kings loves us should be a comforting thing, no matter how much the verse is quoted.

God has told us in His Word: “I will never leave you or forsake you” (NIV, Hebrews 13:5), so you never have to worry that Jesus stops loving you. The fact that Jesus loves you for who you are, not what you have done, should be the most comforting thing ever. Some people feel too guilty of their sin to think Jesus could still love them. Thankfully, God is unchanging and will always love His children.

Jesus is always loving you and is always ready to take you in, no matter who you are. He is waiting to give away His love to anyone who will receive it. With that love comes peace, joy, and, best of all, the Holy Spirit. One of the best parts of Christ’s love is that it changes us for the better. Jesus has always loved us and always will that one thing is certain.
