Drew Steensland, a MCS seventh grader, was awarded $2,500 towards his business plan for MotoRecycling.  The Young Entrepreneurs Academy accepted proposals for the business startup ideas from young people in the local area.  Drew was one of three that were awarded money to start their businesses.

Drew’s business, MotoRecycling, will buy old motorcycles, take them apart, and sell the usable parts on E-Bay.  Any unusable parts, Drew plans to recycle through Milliron.  Drew and his dad came up with the recycling idea and business plan.

Drew plans on using the $2,500 grant to purchase his first inventory of old bikes, some storage shelves, his business license, a website, an E-Bay store, motorcycle lift, and some marketing material.

MotoRecycling’s long term goals include purchasing a Vapor Blaster by 2018 to clean old parts and having its own building for the business by 2020.
